Ultrasound equipment is tuned to detect frequencies above 20,000 (kHz). Depending on the type of inspection, contact or airborne methods are used in ultrasound detection. Pinpoint PdM inspections include bearing applications or liquid leaks (below surface) and compressed air systems. Also we detect electrical arcing, tracking, or corona discharge on high voltage transmission, sub-station, and switching/protection equipment.
These inspections are non-intrusive, and performed while operating, and production is not affected.
